About the Candidate

A Neighbour.
A Leader.
A Voice.

10-year Ward 4 resident. Married to Alex. Proud mother of four.

"I'm running to represent Ward 4 with honesty, compassion, and strong leadership — building community together."

Nicole Callander is a dedicated community advocate who has spent years working to strengthen connections, support families, and advocate for vulnerable members of Brantford's community. As the founder of Friends 4 Kindness — a nonprofit creating meaningful social opportunities for individuals with disabilities — Nicole has helped build a stronger sense of belonging for families across the city.

Nicole also serves with New Paths Brant, a grassroots housing advocacy group working toward innovative housing solutions for adults with disabilities, and is actively involved with the Riverside Hub — a collaborative initiative connecting residents with mental health services, healthcare, and outreach programs. She has also served as Chair of the Parent Council at her children's school for the past four years.

Recognized nationally with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, the 2026 City of Brantford Accessibility Award, and the Paul Harris Fellow recognition from Rotary International, Nicole's commitment to Brantford runs deep. Every Christmas Eve, she personally hands out 100 backpacks filled with hygiene products and warm essentials to unhoused individuals in downtown Brantford.

Nicole believes leadership means being informed, transparent, and willing to have honest conversations about the issues that matter most — from housing and homelessness to public safety, responsible development, and protecting the character of Ward 4 neighbourhoods.
